Officers are reporting over the scanner they have sealed the area, and are going to wait until dawn for advantage, at this time they will be conducting a house to house search. IN other news The internet again has a subject Reportedly Just before 1:00am Eastern, Boston police scanner traffic broadcast the names of the Watertown/MIT shooting/Boston Marathon bombing suspects: Mike Mulugeta and Sunil Tripathi. Tripathi’s name and photo had been floating around the Internet all day, as Reddit and other social media sleuths mused whether the missing Brown University student could be a suspect.

3:06 AM: SUNIL TRIPATHI NAMED AS ONE OF THE SUSPECTS BY THE BOSTON POLICE. MIKE MULUGETA NAMED AS THE OTHER.

CONFIRMED 2:26: ONE OF THE ARRESTED IN THE MIT/WATERTOWN SHOOTINGS IS ONE OF THE BOSTON MARATHON BOMBERS.

UPDATE 1:01 am EST: Holy shit, something’s happening at MIT. Three officers shot and two “Middle Eastern” Men firing at them with police and grenades.

There has been speculation, mostly kicked off by Reddit that missing Ivy League student Sunil Tripathi could be involved in the Boston bombing. He went missing last month without a trace. The FBI became involved in the case, even though it was a presumed suicide.

As I posted today, we should not assume that just because we hear something on twitter or other social media that it is fact, however this is the new media so you decide.
